Here is more info about the ride.
Midwest ATV's will be having are first of many rides this year on April 13th & 14th. Most of us will be there the evening of the 12th. There will be a night ride if enough people want one. The place will be Deepwater, MO. There is camping and hotels close by. The Hotel we recommend is the Safari Hotel. They are giving us a discount from 10% to 30% depending on how many rooms that we book. The # to the hotel to make reservations is 816-885-3395. Just tell them it is for the Midwest ATV ride to get discount.
Deepwater is a very nice place to ride with hills, water and mud. Lots of mud. The strip pits are full of bass and crappie. If you like to fish, bring your pole and tackle. The ride will start Saturday morning the 13th around 9:30 am. Some of us will be riding and /or fishing Friday evening. Bring your own food for Sat and Sun for lunch. There are no riding rules here.
If any more questions, feel free to call us @ 888-545-5713 or send an email to me @ troy.moore@wcom.com
Thanks and looking forward to meeting and riding with all of you guys/gals,
Troy Moore

Mike suggest you bring tire plugs for flats, small 12VDC air compressor, small first aid kit, container for drinking water, basic tools (crecent wrench, vice grips, duct tape, screw driver) rain gear, bug spray, tow strap, TP and anthing else you can think of that you might personally need. We had a great time last year and I'm sure this year will be great to. See ya there, (if I can get off from work).

troy,
How many acres is deepwater and do we need a trail permit to ride their? jon.
By Midwest atv's #1 since 2000 (Hustler) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Jon, there is over 1,000 acres. Each time we go there, 2 or 3 times a year, we find an area that we haven't been to before. No you don't have to have a trail permit to ride. There are on rules to ride there.
By Midwest atv's #1 since 2000 (Hustler) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
New info about this ride. I have been in contact with a few atv magazines for doing a story about the 6x6 atv's. I now have been notified by the Editor of ATV Magazine and they will be doing a story about 6x6 atvs and the ride at Deepwater. I will have 2 free lance photographers with me taking pictures and writing a story about the ride. ATV Magazine said they will put in there next magazine. If you want a chance to have your picture in a manazine, show up for the ride.
Also, I have been in talks with Bob Davis, Editor of ATV Illustrated Magazine and he will try to have a couple of guys at the Badlands ride in June or July of this year to do a story also and put in their magazine. Please come out for the rides to show the World that the 6x6 atv's are the best. Hope to see you guys/gals at the rides.
By John Martin on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
That sounds pretty neat, nice for AATVs to get a good spot in the limelight. I would still be coming even if the magazines where not coming, now its an added bonus, hopefully a lot of riders will show up and we can have a nice big ride in the mud. Sounds great to me!
By Eddie Beddingfield on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
We will be coming to the ride also.It sounds like Deepwater is a real neat riding area. Will bring a ARGO RESPONSE and also in our group a ARGO BIGFOOT. See you next month.

Jon
I am planning on leaving Thursday night and hope to be there mid Friday afternoon. Where are you guys planning on staying?
Russ
By argogeru on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Russ,
We are leaving at 2 or 3 thusday afternoon. I am not sure if we are camping or hoteling. I will know this week. Is TJ coming? Jon
Troy,
DO you know the names of the campgrounds near by? and have their phone numbers?
By Midwest atv's #1 since 2000 (Hustler) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
I don't have the name of the camp grounds, but I will get that info and post it. It is only 3 miles North of Deepwater on Hwy 13. No one has ever stayed in the camp grounds so I don't have that info. I will get it and post it for the ones that want to camp.
By Roger and Bonnie on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Are any of the women going to the Deepwater run? We'd like to, however Roger has been working every weekend lately. We won't have any idea until the last minute.

Geru
I was planning on leaving after I get home from work on Thursday evening, but maybe if our paths are similar we can all meet up at a central point along the highway and travel together. If that be the case I can leave Thursday earlier.
TJ probably will not come but I have to double check.
Let me know about the lodging situation. I am probably going to camp because diesel for this trip is going to be about $200.00 round trip, and with 3 rides in 3 straight weekends, my pocket will be hurting.

There should be a few women there. There is 2 women that own 6x6's that show up at some of the Deepwater ride. I know of a few that will also be showing up with boyfriends or husbands.
Jon,
The campground name is Sparrowfoot campgrounds. The # there is 660-438-7317. The website is: fap.reserveusa.com/nrrs/mo/spaf/

By Midwest atv's #1 since 2000 (Hustler) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Mike,
Don't worry, there will be enough people there at the ride that will be able to help see what the problem is with your engine.
By Henry Gresham (Hgresham) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
I'm looking forward to Deepwater ride. I'm also having a small problem with my Max II. Most of the time it charges the battery, but sometimes it doesn't. I've tried reconnecting battery terminals, making sure they're clean, etc. Any ideas? The problem is not enought to keep me from coming to Deepwater, so maybe someone can offer advice. Henry
By ISAAC EISENMAN (Tropicjungleboy) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
HEY HENRY:
in order to follow up your charging system you should have a portable voltimeter (ac-dc) that you can "by pass" at any part of the electrical system......then try to check the follow:
* "altmost brocken" wires
* uninsulated cable that can make short circuit
* dirt on fuse terminal ( inside rectifier)
* are you sure that your batery is ok..(bouncing action it's a natural batery killer!!!)
*intermitent brocken fuse (make a close view)
splashing some anti rust-water distplacing spray ( as wd 40) will help on cleaning any intermitent contact..........
good search and happy bouncing!!
By argogeru on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Henry,
I have had the same problem with my bigfoot. The problem in my opinion is that the charging system is not strong enough for one of these machines and if one inline fuse is slightly corroded and anything else the battery will lose more than gain. on my argo I have a inline fuse coming of the voltage regulator and that sometimes needs replaced and the terminal cleaned. I dont know if your max has the same fuse or not but if it does, check it. that has been 90% of my charging problems. I know seal it up good with silicone to keep any dirt or moisture out of it and that seems to have done the trick.

The Safari Hotel that most people are staying at for the ride # has changed. the new # to call for reservations is 660-885-3395. Sorry for any problems calling the hotel. Hope to see at the ride. Looks like it will be a big ride. Maybe bigger then the last Badlands ride I had last year.
By Eddie and Mandy Beddingfield on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
We will be leaving friday morning and be there early afternoon.Hope this turnout is good as Badland's ride.Lets all give the magazines something to photograph .See you there Eddie Beddingfield

Troy:
Count us "OUT" for the Deepwater run. Sorry. We were looking forward to riding in a new spot. A new adventure. Roger has to stay within "pager" distance from work even if he supposedly has the weekend off.
When are you planning to have the Badlands run. I hope it is June rather than July. July can be a little to warm. Please post as soon as you know as we have some other plans for June and will have to see which things can be arranged and which can't.
Have a good ride next weekend. Everyone ride safe.
By Russell Lee (Bigkodiak) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Not 100% sure but I may not make it this time either.
I have been ill and was in the hospital. Doc said it might be a bit much on my system. After going to Pete's Spring Fling on Saturday, I was exhausted.
I'll know for sure on Thursday.

Sorry I have been gone for the past few days. My wife just had surgery and been home taking care of her and my two boys. Bonnie, I plan on a Badlands ride the end of June and again in Sept. Russell, sorry to here you have gotten sick. Hope you can make it, but I understand about keeping healthy. We will be at the hotel around 7 Friday night. Depending on the weather and how I feel, I might be fishing that night or just stay in the hotel. My dad and the rest of the gang will be at the hotel. Stop by and say hi around 7:30 or 8pm Friday night if you can. Can't wait until this weekend. Hope to see a bunch of you guys/gals there.
By Russell Lee (Bigkodiak) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Well guys, I have to bail. My illness has just made me too weak to drive 1000 miles, ride all weekend and then drive home. I hope you all have a great time and hopefully I will see you the next time around.
Russ
By Midwest atv's #1 since 2000 (Hustler) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Russell,
Hope you get feeling better. Maybe you will be able to make it to the Badlands ride in June or Sept. I will post the dates when I can get a set date for each ride. I am talking with the people @ the Badlands and Doug Meyer of ATV TV and trying to get a date that is open for both parties so we can have part of the ride taped for ATV TV that is on the Outdoor Channel.

I want to thank all who came out to ride with us over the weekend. I had a blast and I hope you all did also. I didn't get the fishing in that I hoped, but we had a good day of riding Saturday and a nice night ride Saturday night. sunday was also very good, but I had to take my father home early. I will be having another ride here maybe in July this year. don't know yet. The next big ride for us will be @ The Badlands in June. Hope to see you again then.

You guys who shot 8mm camcorder film, if you want still shots from it and don't have the hardware to do it, I'd be happy to do it for you. Can put the stills on a floppy and send them back with your tape.. we need some shots posted on the internet!

Eddie,My buddy Mark had the yellow bigfoot 2 weeks on sun. Sun Bud & Troy and a bunch of us was blasting hills.Mark went down a very steep one.It was on it's front wheels and it was going over, because his front skid plate and nose area buried itself in the ground."He should of been gassing it."anyway he bailed out to try to stop it from going over on his kid.As soon as he bailed ,it came down on the wheels and stoped. Bigfoot is fine Mark is fine just sore. His kid is fine just smacked her knee. He's getting another argo in 2 weeks for his kids and friends to ride with us too.He rode around for a couple hours after it happen.Rick--I got it on my camcorder.

Thanks for the info Rick, I'm glad everyone is ok .There is a small learning curve that everyone will learn after a little time behind the sticks.I still believe these are the safest ATV you can buy. Also it was a pleasure riding with our group, everyone helped each other when needed, and got along very well. Hope to ride with all of you again at the Badlands. Eddie and Mandy Beddingfield
