Good news for everyone coming to the Humphrey Dice Run one week from today: We just returned from marking the rest of the trail this morning and mother nature is delivering what so far has been 22 hours of non-stop rain! Needless to say dust should not be a problem. The lumber company has been busy up there on their property churning up some pretty nasty gumbo-filled ruts for us to play in!!
While we are on that subject, while riding at Humphrey(or anywhere for that matter) stay away from the equipment that the lumber company leaves up in the woods. They are generous enough to share there land with us, so lets not make it look like someone got out of an AATV and messed with their stuff. Admire it from a distance.
I was notified today that in order to get permits for the roads that we use we had to agree to be off them by 10pm. We will have to start(and end) the night ride(s) accordingly. We will try to work out something else before the July Jamboree. No one enjoys a late night ride more than me.
Watch this site all week and I will have daily posts of weather etc for you out-of-towners.
Questions or rsvp at:jsschwab@localnet.com
or through this site.

Hi all from Jackson, Mi. I will there in July for the Jamboree. Had a ball in 2000 and 2001. I expect to be there Friday about 1 or 2pm. Lets make this another great ride.Sadly my buddy Chris from Wixon, Mi won't be able to make it this year. I can't make the April ride but I will be there in 2003. See you in July. Larry (Sti-Me)

Update on the Humphrey Amphibious Dice Run this Saturday.
Some campers have already arrived. The weather here has been unseasonably warm all week. The trail is ready with some new "twists" added. The thunderstorms that were predicted for friday pm have been changed to "just cloudy" (we will see). The weather channel says mid- fifties all day, maybe rain on sunday. Sounds perfect see you there!!
By Russell Lee (Bigkodiak) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
To all those who made the April ride happen: THANKS. It was a great ride. The trails were excellent. I especially liked the advanced/bypass idea. The advanced trails were very difficult and gave a good technical ride for those of who enjoy riding like that, while providing an excellent opportunity for a not so experienced drivers to ride. Ramona's mud hole was in great shape for a challenge (even better when viewed from a sideways position.)
Thanks Again guys can't wait to see you in July
Russ
By argogeru on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Thats right russ bit it in ramonas hole! Mud head to foot. The trails were perfect and it was a great ride. Matt even took the opportunity to take my orange crush (82 restored argo 8) in ramonas mud hole and had it on its side in about 5 seconds but he managed to stay alittle more dry and clean than russ. look for pictures on the photo gallery soon and see the beast in action.
Have fun cleaning the bigfoot russ, I would start with a shovel to get all the mud out! later. Jon Hoath.

It was a great ride. We came down from Rochester NY on Sat. morning, and it rained the entire trip. We knew it would be a slippery ride, but we didn't expect to flip my Attex over backwards. That was a flip I won't soon forget. Good thing for seatbelts and a roll cage.Of course after we flipped we found out that we weren't even on the trail, we just followed the tracks of the machines in the lead.
The most inmpressive flip was the entire family in the mud hole. It was good to see everyone jump right in to make sure everyone was OK. See you in July.

Thanks to everyone who attended our Dice Run Weekend. We ended up with 78 riders and all seemed to have a great time. Two great night rides were enjoyed and a pre-event downpour made many of the inclines quite a challenge. Ramonas mudhole was in its glory swallowing up all brands of AATVs with impunity. Argogeru did a fine job climbing in and out of it in his older-model Argo, quite impressive!! We topped off the weekend with a sunday morning wind-down ride.
I was able to get about an hour of video including the rollover in Ramonas muhole. If you would like a copy contact me at jsschwab@localnet.com
Thanks also to everyone who rsvped, we were able to estimate the group size quite closely and that in turn helps us raise as much money as we can for the Humphrey Volunteer Fire Co.
See you all in July I hope!!

We came from Bath N.Y. (Steuben County) with the two MAX IV's. I have the US military markings on my MAX.We partied with the "ATTEX" team right before they "Flipped out" on us! Glad they are O.K. Hope you show in July fellas!! The By-Pass was an excellent Idea for all the "Station Wagons"!! I think we all gave the Recreatives Employees a few much needed driving lessons.
Overall, I think it was a great great time, everyone was very helpful. Does anyone have an e-mail address for "LEOS"? I shot a good photo of his family I would like him to have.
We also were able to help the dude in the orange 8x8 Friday night, was that guy the famous "ARGOgureu"? Nice guy! What happened to Ramona's machine Saturday night? Had a blast! SLAMMY-The General
By argogeru on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
that was me slammy, thanks for the help. wish you could have seen the orange crush dominate ramonas mud hole. see you in july. geru
By david berger (Davidrrrd) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
slamy,
ramonas machine developed headlight problems and as it was piloted by a kid it was decided it would be best to turn back rather than continue on blind.
and it is posable to view argogeru and his orange crush at the mud hole,
both john schwab and myself have him on video,
i beleave a friend of his also has some video,
By John Schwab (Johnschwab) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Hey Dave- That "kid" piloting Ramonas Max on the night ride was Ramona. I am sure that she will appreciate the compliment when she reads your post. You may find yourself with some homemade chocolate chip cookies or something!
Ramonas Max developed a problem in the charging system and her lights were getting dimmer all the time,so she decided to return to the firehall.
I have footage of the orange crush in Ramonas mud hole. Contact me at jsschwab@localnet.com or through this site to get a copy.
By argogeru on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
john,
The check is in the mail for my copy, can hardly wait to see myself in action.
By John Schwab (Johnschwab) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Hi Argogeru
Tapes of this event have been pretty popular, yours will be in the mail the day I get your check. Wait until you see the family rollover in Ramonas mudhole, I was fortunate enough to have a ring-side seat for that one!
By Russell Lee (Bigkodiak) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
John
Have you already sent out the videos? When did you send them? I haven't recieved mine yet

I am glad that you guys are enjoying the video. I was using a brand-new camera and I obviously had not read all the directions yet. I was fortunate to have 13 year old Megan take one of my other cameras with her and she was able to get some good footage also.
I do not have the computer savvy to send this stuff on-line so if you would like footage from me you have to get it the old-fashioned way ( on videocassette). Contact me through this site or at jsschwab@localnet.com
By Russell Lee (Bigkodiak) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Ron
We had put some stuff in the back of Dave's truck that you guys left on Saturday night. Beyond that I don't recall that item specifically.
