Midwest ATV's is having the first DEEPWATER ride on April 3rd & 4th. We will be planning on a night ride on the 3rd. If you never been to Deepwater, you should come. It has it all from water, mud, hills, more mud and mud. Did I tell you there will be a lot of mud there? As always, I will be bringing my fishing poles to do some fishing each morning before the rides. The ride will start @ 9:00 am on Saturday the 3rd. No rules so you don't have to have a flag or helmet.

Troy: We received the flyer on Deepwater. Thanks for keeping us in the loop. We can't make this one. Sorry. Our son who lives in Phoenix is coming in for a 4 day whirlwind visit. That weekend he will be here. Since he hasn't been home in 5 years we sort of want to stick around. We hope you guys have a really great weekend. Don't get hurt. We'll try to stay in touch.

Are we ready? It rained there this weekend, keeping the waterholes full I hope. Truman lake has been up since the big rains 3/4 weeks ago, so the creeks and inlets should be high.
Mike, your back seat is almost done. I found some very dense 2" foam, replaced the flimsy foam in the back side seats and am making a 4" thick bench seat for the back, sort of like the argo seat only better, lol.
See you guys there.. I plan on being at Sparrowfoot Friday evening.

Did everyone get perpetually swamped out there in the Deepwater mud pits? I couldn't make this ride but I've been waiting for a full report from all the AATVers. How did it go?
I suspect there was only one Max (Troy) to about ten Argos. No one has made it back yet since it's going to take Troy a long time to pull all those Argos out of the mud.

WELL WHAT HAPPENED AT THE DEEPWATER RIDE? HOW MENY ATV'S SHOW UP AND WAS THE WEATHER GOOD?
By rogersmith on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Deepwater was good.. the lake was up and the ponds full.. trails not soaked, weather was nice.
Rode Sat & Sat nite, didn't lay down till 3AM. Sunday.. well almost everyone had to leave in the morning for various reasons. Don Millington of Garnett, KS brought an Avenger for everyone to demo.
Would like to go back this Spring.
By mike martindale (Wetsu) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
well all i can say is...i had a GREAT time.many thanks to roger, rick, troy.and of course don for allowing me to ride and drive again.
don,the avenger was an awsome machine.knock a few grand off and i'd love to own one.
brandon,as a matter of fact there were 5 max's down there.but they were still out-numbered by argo's.
By Midwest atv's #1 since 2000 (Hustler) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
The ride was good. The weather was great. The lake was up a lot. Took out a bunch of trails by the lake. The mud pit in back, by the ramp was flooded with water. The ground was so water logged that it was a hard pack mud. Turn out was small, just 10 atv's I think. 5 Max's and 5 Argo's.
I do want to thank everyone that made the ride. I know I am late in posting this, but I am having computer problems.

To those of you who got the opportunity to demo the new Argo Avenger, what were your impressions of it when comparing it to other Argo,s you have driven?
Is it any better at negotiating hard trail situations when compared to an Argo Big foot with 25 inch tires and with a larger motor also?
By Rogersmith (Rogersmith) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
I'd say the avenger is the most capable argo, just by wheel base, ground clearance, and ability to mount the largest tire. Doesn't necessarily make it better than a bigfoot, IHMO, depends on what you want to do and carry. Sports car or station wagon.
By RickMoMoBigfoot on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
The Avenger was awesome .. Plus something about a brand new machine. You got to try test driving one to get your own opinion . I didn't know that they made the bottom of the machine raised for more ground clearce too. Seen this thing in action was cool. Where the cheapest place to get a Goodyear Rawhide III Tire at ? Rick
By Midwest atv's #1 since 2000 (Hustler) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Rick,
I tried to post something twice now. I will try it again.
Call us @ 888-545-5713 or since you are local, 314-355-0965. We carry the Rawhide III's and a bunch of other atv tires now.
