As my restoration project expands, I am noticing that I will need to make a lot of new parts. I know I will need all the sprocket/tube assemblies, sprocket/idler shaft assemblies, axles - but they will have wheel hubs welded on the ends (no more bolts to break...) and last but not least, the main shaft that runs through the transmission. The tranny shaft is going to be a b&%ch! It is an SAE parallel-side 10 tooth pattern on mine (model 500120 - with the hoop pedal for reverse). I will either rent a cutter to do the spline work or just do all the lathe turning here and send it out for the spline.
I'll get to the point...
Before I go through all this for myself, would anyone out there be in need of these parts for their machines? I haven't done any cost analysis yet, so I have no idea on the prices. I would guess something like what the guy selling Attex sprockets is charging. The tranny shaft will depend on what that cutter will cost me.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
George

I think that I might have an extra tranny shaft and possibly some or all of the sprocket tube assemblies. I will be gone this weekend but I could look next week if you would like. Email me if you like incase I dont get back onto the board for a while.

I would appreciate that. The only other parts I need to fix/make are the ring gears on the ends of the transmission. All I need to do there is add metal where the bearing and seal ride and turn them back down to size. This machine was a little rough when I got it...

I do have a used tranny shaft. The only signs of wear is where the ring gear rides on the spline.I also have 2 ring gears. One has a bearing frozen to it. I do have a full set of sprocket assemblies but they are still in the frame and the axels are rusted in them. I am quite busy with work and hunting right now so it would be a while before I could get them apart.

Thanks for the offer, Chris, but that is where mine is wearing, too. I think I'll be better off in the long run with new parts. Old sprockets do not mix well with new chains. Just like gears, they should be replaced together.
Are you hunting ducks or deer? I have to hold off on the deer for another couple of weeks...open season on the ducks though.
