Could anyone please identify this 6 wheeler.
It has an Aluminium hull, Chain drive to all 6 wheels, seperate drive for the propellor (possibly electric).
No Idea about the engine - it's not there.
There is no sign of a manufacturers logo or ident. The original colour appears to be the yellow.
It uses a Borg Warner transmission (No help - most use Borg's)
Many thanks
Martin Thomson

WOW, shur is an ugly basterd but i bet you can get it going, im prity shur as long as you have a compleat body and a trany you can restor a vehicle
By David Keeso (Argomag) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
I saw a picture of something close on ebay today. It was an old Bazoo. I don't think they are the same though. I will get back to you though. What you could do is go to ebay and put in ARGO ATV, and it will come up. Then compare them and see if they are similar
By David Keeso (Argomag) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
I'm Still looking, but it looks like a swamp fox. It would be a very very old one at best, and I don't know a thing about any of these old 6x6 vehicles. I only know my ARGO, but it looks like a swamp fox?
By Mthomson on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
David,
Please don't call it an ugly bastard.
It has feelings, and when it sulks, more of the steel bits turn to rust.
Everyone who see's it is told to say nice about the ugly little bastard.
:-)

Mthomson , OK IT'S NICE that it has a t-20 trans
DAVID K, POSABILITY it may be a swamp fox as they had t-20's
By ARGOMAG on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
in the restoration pics, I think anyway, their is a new picture of an really old machine. It looks like the one in the above pics and its a swamp fox. Take a look and see.
By David Keeso (Argomag) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Here is the swamp fox that is on the site in the general stuff. Hopefully, I copied the link properly but who knows. The pictures are a little blurry but in my opinion, the beat up bastard and this look alike.

Well I'm still looking and checking.
Thanks for the suggestions, so far the closest by look is the Swamp Fox. But still no prize.
(Fibreglass body, different controls, longer nose)
Please keep offering suggestions. I'm running out of ideas. With the machine the way it is, I'd like to see a picture or find the manufacturer so I know what it's supposed to look like.
Again thanks
Martin
PS Thanks David B. It feels much better now you said something nice, about the acne covered ugly thing. :-)
By David Keeso (Argomag) on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
MThomson, did you get a chance to compare the 6x6 in the pics above to the old Bazoo on ebay? That may be another close match to look at, but the swamp fox is probably closer. Let me know what you think.
By MThomson on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
David K,
Yep I checked the Bazoo on eBay.
Again the nose is too long (must be telling lies).
Mine looks a bit like a MAX, they were my first thoughts, about 4 months ago, but
1: the MAx's have plastic hulls
2: they just don't look enough like my acne machine. (Spotty paint where the green is coming off to reveal the original colour - Yellow)
I look at all offerings or suggestions.
I thought the Goanna might be a go as the Acne machine is not in the Route6x6 history or the Amphibious vehicle archive. (Goanna appears to be an obscure Australian offering)
Both these places have quite a selection of machines (some look REALLY GOOD).
Please ask your mates or even your enemies for suggestions.
Can anyone let me know when the T-20 was first released. The Acne machine must from then til now. It'll narrow it down a bit - I hope.
Martin

Let Me know what you come up with by e-mailing me at the listed address. I would be interested in what you find out about it.

Here are some more pictures.
It may cause an identification or some more ideas.
Take a look, the "sm-" file should load quickly as they are about 40Kb in size.
If the others are too big let me know and I'll down size them.
This is how the machine arrived, minus water, leaves, compost, yucky bits, some rust and paint.
PS Richard if this is getting to much please let me know.
Thanks
Martin

MThomson, I will have to agree with Dave here, It sure is an ugly bastard! Whatever the hell it is, the origional owner has left it to go to hell and I wish you luck trying to restore it. I still have no idea what the hell it is, but will still keep looking.

Hi Martin
Repco released a 6x6 in the 'old days'. It could be one of those. From memory they had a prop at the back, like yours. Just a thought for you.
By Wild Dog Machinery on Unrecorded Date: Edit |
Hey Martin
Go into your local newsagent and have a look for the magazine "Just 4x4's" September 02 edition.
Page 190 has a photo of a 6x6 that looks quite like your little machine. If it's a match, you could call the seller and see what you can find out. Let us know if you have luck with it!

Martin, have you had any more luck with that rust bucket 6x6 you found? Hopefully gave it a new coat of paint! Let us know what you did with it.
