How easy is it to take apart the upper & lower halves of an ATTEX body? I've read somae places where they were suposedly glued together. What kind of stapler does one use to put the black bumper back on?
Thanks,
Kush

hey e l mckenney: i get excellent result with 80 w electronics welder...works terrific on my max melting 1/4" gallon of black motor oil container....results are altmost as no damage at all!!!!.....excellent bonding to max body if you keep the right ammount of heat on repair area....but you should contact david berger since he is "the plastic master"........fixed it and back to bounce!!!

E.L.Mckenney.....what kind of plastic is your atv body made of? If the body is made of ABS plastic like an older Attex, don't waist your time. I purchased an expensive welder and puts litterly rolls of plastic on my Attex 400 Chief. I like to ride the machine in the woods and mud so when I was finished, the holes ripped open the first day out in the woods. I repaired the holes and cracks again but they still did not take. If yo have a polyethelene body I hear they are much easier to repair..good luck...jkemp22

All of the literature says that a MAX is made of HDPE and supposedly welding is the only repair method, no chemical welding methods anyway. I will let you know how it works out.

j kemp, you need to grind back beond the repairs you did with heat gun and fix the abs with liquid abs per discutions no doubt arkived as restoration off older vehicls under attex and amphacat, also ask roadwolf, joel haslet, mike abbey, gary in vermont, ect ect..heet is bad for abs, it chemicly chainges it each time it's heated it is weakend,(burnt) heet welding IS the only good way to repair polyetheline so you did not waist the money, you can use it on a moderen aatv, :-)
