Can anyone out there tell me about Attex. I hear they were made in Penna. Like to know where. I have a 1973 vintage Attex, don't know the model. Had a 2 cyl 400 cc JLO w/ 4 bolt heads (apart in a box down stairs if anyone wants it). Could not get pistons for it, zero compression. Replaced the JLO with a Rotax 340, runs like a SOB (cannot imagine how well a good running JLO 400 would be in that machine). Need to do some body work and now a tensioner, think I'll do a total tear down this winter, but God I love it.

i recently bought an attex 6x6 and need piston rings for a rockwell jlo engine . i have not been able to get in touch with anyone to get some. can anyone tell me where to get them, or what kind of motor will replace it. my clutch has a tappered sleeve so the b&s motors i've found won't work. i believe the motor type is (L300L) Hubr.297 ccm (PS/N) Mot-Nr 297 50580 .i would like to keep the original motor if possible. i live near attlanta ga. near alabama. any help would help thanks. you can contact me at jbarric2@bellsouth.net thanks again

Don't mean to be pickey ... BUT ... my ATTEX has a name plate that says it was built in Glenshaw PA.

P.S. I live in Pittsburgh, PA ... and ... Glenshaw is a suburb ...
