Well the starcraft been to a couple rides and I have seen the light, the 440 is getting removed to be replaced by a 16hp 4 stroke,I have instaled all new #50 chain and sprockets,1st ride at ron sweets i snapped a #41 front chain so i changed it all to #50,I also welded wheel adapters to axle and installed studs yeh ! i was the guy you all saw putting my center wheel back on at humphry 2002 in the mud puddle after my nephew had to chase down the tire.I also had to be towed up the steep hills [lack of low end torque] had to carry extra fuel[them 440 are thirsty]i have a 7.5 gallon tank and still had to carry extra.I have install a 2000lbs winch and adeep cycle marine battery,Now is the time to improve the moter.I think the four stroke will complete the machine and give me dependablity.

O.K.the starcraft is now a 4 stroke the engine conversion was sweet ,engine was purchased right here on 6x6,thanks richard!.i also installed a duster94 comet clutch.the 16 hp almost didnt fit in the space availible,my clutch is almost against the right wheel well, but th exaust is done ive got a near perfect idle, and it starts every time .i lost alot of top end but the low end power is great.i dont think those steep hills will be a problem now.whene i installed new sprokets i geared it lower so i could get the 2cycle reved up higher.now its power [could almost use the higher gear now.in a drag race my nephews scrambler would take me ,but i think i could pull him side ways HA! HA! I AM NOT TO WORRIED THE FASTER THE MACHINE THE FASTER DAVE GETS IN TROUBLE!ALL IN ALL THE CONVERSION HAS BEEN A GOOD ONE SOON I WILL START ON THE WEDGE.

Gee ! i must have the only running starcraft on this board.well last weeknd i felt confident to let my 10yr old kristen drive the six wheeler and let my dad drive it also, kristen did pretty good untill she hit a pretty deep drift in grandpas back yard, the snow was realy wet and she high centered,so we rreversed it and she backed up a 100feet or so[i told she would have go thru it faster]and she did scared the crape out of me,she altered her direction 30 times but she blasted thru, she seemed to more concentrating on more speed than direction, but for a first time driver she done good, myself and my 15yr old nicole took the back seat.then grandpa wanted a turn, now judging by the smile he had on his face i think he might want to trade in his golf cart,L.O.L.. He was pretty inpressed, ran all afternoon ,evan ran out of gas, filled the tank and started right up,whene we were done i drove it up the trailer ramps and the tires where full of snow and i slid off the ramps dad grabbed the sticks and igave a little lift and she went right on.I havnt tryed any hills yet and she is still running a little rich,I cant wait for the snow to melt so we take her out in the mudd and find some hills to traverse, well maybe i will end up at haspin on the next ride and that will put her to the test.

well the old two stroke would have been better with electronic ignition, turns out that was the problem,i had a coil or condenser that was acting up whene the moter got hot,but i decided if i had to remove the moter i would install a four stroke with electronic ignition,i need a good dependible ride.then theres the wedge again i am going to four stroke it,but you know i got to have the adrenilin fix now and then and i havea future prodject maybe for that moter i also have anouther 440 in storage or maybe a 750 cc bike moter,i am not sure yet i have to finnish wedge then on to the hmmmmmmm the SUPER WEDGE L.O.L
