My dad bought me a Scrambler a few years back that I never got to run that good. First if someone could give some info on what year ect ect. that would be great. It is a six wheel drive with a steering wheel. The model is a 1600 with a tecumsah moter. One main problem is I never got it to steer or stop, because of those Zerk type fittings, I bled them with a grease gun but when I turn or press the brake ATF seeps out of the top of the stock zerk. Is there a replacement of if I bled them then capped them would that work?. Also the latest prob is with the carb. We did by a replacement carb and my dad installed a fuel pump (pulsating type). Now When the moter is running gas gets into the oil. Is this because it is getting to much gas? or is the carb stuck open? was the pump a bad idea and should come off?. thanks for any advice info, Bryan

Bryan: With the fuel pump deal; sounds like you have the vaccum port mixed up with the fuel delivery port. Either that or you have a bad diaphram in the pump. Keep the pulse pump, they are safe. Sorry, I can't help you out with the other problems.

wildlifer,
yep, it is time. time to... yes you know, melt down all yer hand tools, mould them into a set of hand cuffs and when you get the urge to work on mechanical objects , quickly slap them onto your hands.
zerk fittings and bleed screws may lQQk the same but serve entirely different functions.
you will never , rather i will never let you bleed the brakes on my car with a grease gun, why?, 'cause you'll be " definatlety" wearing the cuff's!

Scramblers reverse bleed the brakes from the slave to the master by using a modified grease gun to pump ATF into the system. Often the grease fitting leak but if you notice the fitting are designed with screw on caps. Make sure the caps have a gasket in it to seal the top of grease fitting. The cap style grease fitting are availible from McMaster Carr.
Dont let roadwolf near a Scrambler when he is wearing his Hand cuffs.

marc, i would have never dreamed someone would use zerks for bleeding.
sorry for heckling you wildlife, but since i am to wear these blasted handcuff's, i can only tell you there are brass adapters that use bleeder screws and can be fastened into the existing housing.
you can then back bleed with a plastic squeeze bottle. i have use this technique with gokarts and mx bikes that have a small swept area.
