whats a reb worth and are they any count?

I looked at a Reb last winter. Not having any experience with an AATV, I let it slip away. I could have purchased it for $1500. It had a winch but whether it worked or not was up to some serious doubts. Other than a front boot being torn, I considered it to be in good condition.
I did drive it and wasn't very impressed with the drive train. Seemed like the belt slipped too much when wet and the thing made a lot of engine and drive train noise without much forward motion to show for it. Basically, I thought that the drive train was pre-historic (compared to modern day 4x4 ATV's). Looks like they need to move some of today's modern 4x4 land machine technology into the refinement of the AATV.
I really liked the lines of the vechicle and the idea of 4 wheels instead of 6. Seems like 50% less tire troubles from the get-go.
Have you received any response from other Reb owners? I would like to know what the overall opinion is. Please don't extol its virtures too much or I may have to try to track this thing down again as I really did like the cut of it!

I have one for sale, but the way to fix the belt slipping is to take a 2 sprockets and weld them ito the belt drive area them just use chain instead of belt. After you do this you will need to make a covering for the chain so you or your kids dont loose a finger.
