Can anyone tell me how well Tru-trax work on an Argo 6 x 6? Do they stay on or de-rail easily?
Do they help floatation on deep snow? and do they rub the wheel wells?
will I need to add the "bearing basket" I keep reading about or are the stock axles O.K.?

I have only seen one set of trutrax and they are basically a copy of argos standard tracks. they should not come off unless you have three flats on one side and are turning on tree stumps, and you do not need "bearing baskets", that is the other brand that needs them. you would be shocked at the difference in deep snow and narly mud with tracks, compared to no tracks, you will go through mud with tracks you couldn't even get all six tires into without tracks. they are exellent in marsh, nasty mud, and of coarse deep snow. as far as the quality of true trax I dont know, but the argo tracks I have not broke yet and I have beat the crap out of them. two downfalls though, the price, It only cost odg pennies to make a set but sell them for a rediculous price, and secondly they will take power away from the motor unless you are in some real slippery terrain or snow, they cover alot of ground. your top end speed will decrease by aproximatly 5 mph with them on also. once you see what they go through though, it wont matter.

I have a set of Tru-Trax on my Argo Bigfoot. They are super heavy duty and I've had no problems with them. I would advise against getting the cleats unless you're mainly going to be on ice. The cleats don't work well in snow. As soon as the tracks slip a little the cleats just dig until the Argo is bottomed out on the snow.
They are easy to put on and take off, just deflate the front and rear tires first! The Tru-Trax are a lot less money than the ones you get from ODG and are the same thing. Argoqeru is right, the tracks really will rob power from your engine, and your top speed is slower but the trade off is well worth it.

You will need cleats on ice unless you like being compared to a pig on ice, because that is what you are. were I live their always seems to be snow on the ice so I have never had any problems with traction. If you fall through the ice in your machine the cleats are a big help in getting out. Me personally from the sound of it the trutrax are you best bet for your money, less than half the price last time I checked, and tim is right, the cleats will dig.
