Dude, don't buy the 4x4. You will regret it, becaue in a 6x6, you can carry many people and gear, flaot, have 6-wheel drive, and so on. All it takes is good common sense. Lets see that quad carry 6 people.

Carla- The first thing you must decide is what your needs are. Do you need amphibious capability and how many people will be on board? Don't listen to the folks that say that quads are no good because they don't float and only carry one person. Modern quads are very capable and very low on maintenance needs. I own both a Max11 and a Honda Foreman 4x4. They each excel at THE DUTIES THAT THEY WERE DESIGNED FOR.
Hopefully someone more knowledgable about Argo models can help you on this but I think that the Vanguard still has mechanical brakes and the runamuck tires. Probably not your best choice.Argogeru?

The mechanical brakes take a lot of maintenance. Go with at least the Vanguard 2 for hydrolic brakes. It still has runamuk tires but they are still a very capable tire and swim well. For a little extra cash you can get the Bigfoot. It is the best 6x6 Argo makes and the bigger, more aggressive tires are what you need on a 6x6.

carla,
I would not go with the manual brakes, they are alot more maintenence than the hydralic.

carla, i have owned my argo bigfoot for 2 years, going on 3.it was worth the money i spent.since i try to do as much with it as i can, maintanence or not,you won't be dissapointed with the 6x6.keep your chains oiled, your bearings greased, and you oil changed and just like your automobile it will last as long as you want.so far my biggest expense has been tires.rocks really are hell on side walls.good luck with your decision,it also should pull your brushhog or whatever you plan to mow with, with little or no problem.
