hi there well it's getrting that time soon for snow so i'm also looking to see how a blade mounts to a max i will also be useing a blade i have here as well so what i'm saying i would like to make my owen mounts so if any of you could help me out thanks

I plan on mounting a plow to my ATTEX. I am going to use 2 1" pillow block bearings to mount my plow to the axles. On your MAX you may be able to try the same idea. Just remove the wheel hubs and slide the pillow block bearings onto the axle to the existing bearings. Now you have something to bolt the plow to (the holes in the pillow block bearings) I will also add a bar between the arms mounting the plow that will keep the added bearings tight to the existing bearings. Any comments?

Actually you don't have to take of the skid plate.
I bought a beat up Response that had bad cracks in the rear frame.
I added axle extensions to reinforce the welds
I put in. It is kind of nerve wracking to drill
through the shell in that critical area. I would
see if you can put axel extension for your vangard. They were about
$120 for the Response. They will beef up the whole area and you can use them as a template for the holes you need to drill. Otherwise see if you can borrow one from your dealer to map out where the holes are.
Barring that you have to tap and guess. You could try magnetizing the frame in the area and see if iron filings would show you the pattern of the holes. Once you get a hole drill a tiny pilot hole. Pry the shell out from the frame with shims and use a dremel to expand the hole it out. You should be able to get a cork gasket from OGD. Good luck and take your time.

I almost forgot. The skid plate can be trimmed without removing it. Use a dremel (preferably with one of those router type attachments for depth control). Take the local screws out and shim the skid plate up off the hull for safety. Leave about 3/4 inch space around what you will be mounting. Fairly low risk because the hull is quite thick but take it slow anyway.
