I'm thinking of buying they plans but I'd like to know:
Has anyone here ever used the EDGE 6X6? If so how much was the final cost?
How long did it take? The web page says the plans have detailed drawings is this true?
I've heard that they don't cover how to build watertight axles is this true? If so how did you get around it?
Anything else I should know ?

Fireviper,
Don't waste your money draw them yourself. :)

I purchased the plans last summer with the intentions of building one of their machines. I was very dissapointed with them. I have used some of the other plans they have (buggies) and they are a LOT more detailed than the 6X6 plans. Luckily the exchange rate was decent and I only ended up paying about $30 U.S. for them. They give you a place to start when building, but don't cover any of the details (water tight axels, etc.) In fact, they ask for builders who have completed a machine from the plans to send them pictures of the completed machine! If you search this site, you will find they have been discussed before. Good luck.

Yeah I had heard that I think it was on a page "How to build a bathtub with wheels" and the person there said that as well but I was hoping they had improved on the plans since 1999. The page says that the plans has detailed drawings. Did you purchase the plans recently?
As much as I'd like to draw my own plans I do not have the technical knowledge to do that I was going to build this with some of my buddies. Personally I'd prefer to start with a junked 6X6 (something not working but not falling apart either) but they are hard to find in the Houston area for some reason. Any of you know of people that sell 6x6's that are in need of restoring in this area (North Houston and northern surrounding area)?
