I have a '97 Argo Response and I was wondering if any has figured out a way to quiet down the exhaust noise. The factory muffler is very noisy.

Thank you!

Tom: This remindes me of a friend of mine that used a Honda 90 to hunt with. He found a square muffler that he bolted onto the end of the stock muffler. It was very, very quiet!!!!! I'm sure he and you will lose a little power, but if you are after a quiet machine you will have to make some concessions. Good luck.

I added an exhaust pipe down the side of my Response.. it's a major improvement, very quiet and no fumes in your face. A piece of inch and a 1/2 straight pipe and a section of flex pipe to make the bend plus whatever mounting style you choose. I used a couple pieces of 1 inch channel for mounting brackets... screwed down under the rubber skirt.

Havn't designed a heatshield to protect me/passengers, that's next. Without a shield, it is a serious burn hazard for people/pets, although gloves, long heavy pants and commom sense go a long way. With 3/4 or 1 inch clearance, the Argo body stays cool to the touch.

When your riding in your bigfoot, it sounds very noisy to the driver, but the sound doesn't seem to travel. Everytime I ride I always surprise animals and they don't seem to hear me untill I am 50 feet in front of them. I always surprise the same OWL and deer. Last year I actually shot a deer with my crossbow with the engine running.
