Ok, this is a dumb question. I bought my Buffalo used and it didn't come with an engine manual. The burn in period is about done (initial burn in) so I need to change the oil the first time. I'm used to cycle engines, but these (forgive me) lawm mower type engines are foreign to me. Where would one find the oil drain? (I did find the oil filter on my own!) I have no idea what most things on this engine are, so sorry for the dumb question!

Chris, You should get a set of repair books from the factory or Richard if you will be working on the machine yourself. If it saves one screw up or an hours time, you will more than have paid for them. I would also buy one of those easy drain oil plugs.
To answer your question, the oil drain is at the front of the motor on the side, right at the bottom (there is a short nipple and a cap). Hold the nipple with something so it does not come out when you try to take off the cap. There is also a plug at the back of the engine, but it drains better if you work with the front stuff. At least that is how my 1995 Buffalo is - they could have changed things by now.

Fred, I've got the easy drain plug. It was suggested on one of these discussions and I bought it from RI... just trying to figure out where it goes! This engine is totally foreign to me, cycle engines seem simpler (but then again, I know them). Thanks.
