I need some help please. I recently bought a 1997 Conquest 8x8 with the 20 hp liq cooled Kawasaki motor.
It starts on a dime and gives you nine cents change, runs like a champ up to 50% throttle and then dies like it is starving for fuel. I have checked the fuel pump, filter & checked for water contamination. I am at a loss to figure this problem out. I am in Alaska, temps are 18-22 F and one other thing I noticed is the temp gague never seems to get over 100-110F. Is there a thermostate on these motors? This rig has 388 hours on it.
Thanks in advance for any help you may offer.

tom try playing with the choke a little while you are running this will tell you that it is the craberater or not witch is pretty basic it could be the choke not opening all the way or a jet pluged a little mine use too do it on the lower end and i changed the filter and ran some carberater cleener through it and now it works fine alaska gas is not a high quality gas so some times i even add a little octane boost were in alaska i live in Haines AK and there is a theromstat it is located if you are standing in front look over the top of the engine like you are going to look at the front of the trans and there you will find the unit on the back side of the engine
