I'm trying to decide between an Argo and a Max and want to test drive both to see which one I want to buy. Max has a dealer about 2 hours from me and Argo has one about 4 1/2, so this weekend I went to the Max dealer and took a ride in a Max II. Driving by myself was simple enough, but when I added a passenger, my legs were against the control levers and it was awkward to control. The dealer said that I'd "get used to it", but I'm not sure. Has anyone out there successfully adapted the Max's control levers so they could be used between the legs when there are two riders, versus having to "steer" off the right side of your body with your right leg jammed against the levers? Is the Argo easier to steer or does it also have a similar problem with 2 in the front seat?
