I have a MaxII and realley enjoy the machine but the ride has never been comfortable,Last year I purchased the best bucket tractor seats I could find but still is a rough ride after a while.
Has anyone had any better luck coming up with more comfortable seating for the Max machines?
Thanks,Jerry B.

Jerry, the easiest thing to do is keep the pressure in your tires low. 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 PSI in old style rims and you can drop it to 1 1/2 to 2 PSI if you have the k-rims (K-rims have no recession around the lug holes and use flat sided nuts, not cone ended lug nuts). Please remember, too, that tire pressure rises and falls with the temperature (and altitude - when you climb, the air pressure increases).
I have found some 15" square air pillows that I am selling that work pretty well. If you put just enough air in the pillows to lift your butt off the seat, they make for a pretty good ride.

I have a friend who does upholstery, and have bought foam from him for my boat seats and couch cushions. They make a LOT of different densities of foam, ie, firmer. This Spring I bought a sheet of the sfiffest stuff I've seen. It's marketed for school bus, atv, and tractor seats. I bought 2" thickness but it comes in 1,2,3" etc sheets. I replaced the foam in the back sides of my argo 8, which has rediculously soft 1.5" foam. And I built a back bench seat for it, using two layers of the 2" stuff. This foam is wonderful! I had a passenger in the back and I think he felt the bottom of it once during a wild Deepwater weekend ride.
Am going to get more of it to do the front seat, and could supply others with it if they can't find it locally. If I had accurate dimensions of the stock seat bottom and cover depth, I could ship the foam to others. Had thought about sending a piece to Fred, actually. I also have a new Max dealer 60 miles away with a II and a IV, so I could measure his seats.. don't know if they've changes dimensions over the years...
I think this is really great stuff and makes a BIG difference in comfort level, as the foam in our vehicles isn't adequate, especially as it ages.
