I have just purchased a 1985 Argo. I am new to the 6x6 and 8x8 scene, so any advice I will appreciate.
There is a gradual, continuous pull/drift to the left. I need to correct about every 5 to 6 seconds to keep a straight path.
a) Can this be remedied or fixed?
b) It has a Tecumseh engine. It is quite loud. Have any of you added more muffler to your units?
c) There are idling pads on the chains. Are they to be greased and if so, what grease is best.
d) Where can I obtain a service/owners manual. I have looked on this site but I don't see any for the Argo.
e) What suggestions do you have for using an outboard? what transem is used? one needs a long-shaft outboard, right?
f) do the levers do anything more than brake the left and right? Should there be some steering-effect with just a little pull on the lever, on the way-travel to braking?
g) what gap should the spark-plug be set at?

A: Yes, measure the circumference of the tires and air them up so they are all the same.
B: I have the same motor as yes it is loud, but so is the transmission. Never tried a better muff.
C: No
D: Richard should have them I think. Give him a call and ask.
E: I use the one that Argo sells. Yes long shaft.
F: That all they do. Yes it should pull a little and the more you pull the more it should turn.
G: I run mine at .030. I don't know book specs.
