Can I take .040 overbore rings and file and install on my standard bore pistons?
The piston ring groove ring retainer that keeps the rings from moving about the pistons axis are broken off. Will this be a problem in keeping the ends of the rings away from the intake and exhaust ports in the cylinder?
Any help, suggestions, parts for sales, etc. would be appreciated.

This is not a good idea. The circumference would not work out right.

Yes, thats what they ae there for. Get the right parts.

Have you checked Richard?

Yes, I have checked with Richard and I don't believe I have the change needed to purchase the parts he has at this time.

Anybody know what a JLO piston with the following part number would be for?
pistons is 399.05.902/10
(I'm thinking it fits a 400 cc JLO, but don't know what the other numbers would represent.
Thanks
Steve
