rick, what exactly is a tapered cork and where would I find one?.

Rick, you shouldn't have to drain any water from the machine. The thing shouldn't leak at all I don't think. My ARGO Magnum leaks a lot after its been in the water for about 20 minutes, but other than that, its fine. I know that if I am floating in water and I feel little drops of water hitting my face and they smell like gas, than the bilge pump goes on. Last time i was at the cottage, I drained the water out, and I can't figure out for the life of me where its comming in, but I must have easily drained out enough to fill a washerfluid jug of water. The plugs don't leak I don't think because they are tight as hell to get in and I actually have to pound them into place and then flipping the little thing on them down, thats another battle.

I use the rubber and brass plugs from wall mart half inch. i take on water from my max ivs frunt left axle . is this easy to change out the baerring , i herd that is why they take water from that point . thanks for any advice.

Max factor, check the bearing flange bolts, make sure they are uniformly tight and put a squirt or two of grease in the bearing cavity. 99.9 percent of leaks in Max are the bearing flange bolts not being uniformly tight.

If in fact it is a bearing, yes, they are fairly easy to change, order the service manuals and you will have no trouble.

MAX FACTOR, IF YOU FIND THE FLANGES ARE TIGHT ENOPH BUT BEARING IS STILL SLOPY INSIDE THE FLANGES YOU CAN REFRESH THE FLANGE HALFES WITH A FEW TAPS OF A HAMMER GOIN AROUND THE RAISED EDGE AND AGENCED A BLOCK OF WOOD, WHILE YOUR CHAINGING THE BEARINGS,
DURING REASEMBLY YOU SHOULD FIND THE FLANGES ARE LIKE NEW!

Hi, question! can you put a floor jack under the max and mot crack,dent or pierce the under body . I started to lift it one day and thought it might damage the bottem because it was plastic on medal ?

max factor, I've used a floor jack to lift my max, but just to be on the safe side I used a short piece of 2x4 about a foot or so long between the jack and the max just to distribute the weight a little. It works fine.
