I am looking for some technical help. I have some specific questions comparing the Argo CONQUEST to the Hydortraxx. I am wanting to make some adaptations to either machine to facilitate my disability. I will be ordering one of these machines this week if I can get my questions answered.
Q. Are all the chains double RC50 o-ring chains?
Q. How many hours will these norally last with good maitenance?
Q. What do you see as the advantages ARGO vs Hydrotraxx?
Q. What questions should I ask Hydrotraxx?
Q. What questions should I ask ARGO?
I've already talked to my "local" dealer, Mr. Watkins, and he was helpful. But, I want to talk to someone experienced in building and repairing these machines.

Keep in mind that the hydro-traxx is a limited production machine and could possibly go out of business at any time. If this happens you would not be able to find parts. If you look at the pictures of the "factory" on the web site it looks like they make 1 machine at a time in a pole barn.

I would never consider such a vehicle until it has been around 6 or 7 years.

Has anyone used the US. Tsubaki roller chain (standard ansi 50)? If so how does it stand up?
Also wondering if anyone has tried the plastic idler sprockets from them?

HEY BADTNT:
when i "update" my max by replacing all 40 chain by 50 ansi i used us.tsubaki....this is a high quality one...on heavy equipment i also used same brand with size up to 264 ( 200 sprocker) and keep going!!!.about plastic idle sprocker i don't know but plastic with abrasive compound ( after all that's the result of your well intended oiling plan on your aatv chain plus all stuff that placed near them!!!...or worst when brandon deside not to oil at all the chains and sprocker start to run on rusted chains!!!)..on mine i desided to use "b" style sprocker ( are the ones with lateral support....better steel grade than the "a" style...the "flat" style sprocker).... us tsubaki bounces great!!!

I am replacing all of the chains on my 92 Argo 8x8. The front sprockets do not have set screws, should they?

scott,
with the splined axles the sprockets shouldn;t have set screws. On my bigfoot the bearings each have two set screws, the sprockets should be able to slide back and forth on the splines.
