I have my tiger purring like a kitten! The new B&S vnguard 12hp from Richard seems to be perfect for the tiger. I'm really surprised on how balanced the tiger is in the water. Unfortunately while logging in my first hour on the new motor and machine I spun the left clutch out. Has anyone had there clutches relined? If so by whom and how much? Is there any tricks or helpful hints that I need to know about when I start taking the clutch assembly apart? If I can get a local clutch and brake rebuilder to do the job is there any specifications that they should know? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

There are two problems that come to my mind. First your new clutches mightare not be thick enough which is allowing your male part to bottom out before it makes side contact in the female dish. This happen to me on my last set of rebuilt clutches. Second, is that when one clutch is disengaging it is suppose to make contact with a brake pad so it will stop spining. I can't remember the clearence (it isn't very much at all maybe the width of a penny or so?) Richard has the manual on the tiger and it goes into this. I sold my tiger shortly after I had clutches relined a second time with a week. This time the shop relined them with thicker liners and they worked great. The new owner got my manuals too.

HI,
THE CLUTCH BRAKE FACE CLEARANCE SHOULD BE 1/16 BETWEEN CLUTCH BRAKE FACE AND BRAKE PAD.
