I Have a Max IV with 26" Tru Power Tires. At 3 psi they are still very stiff ! How low should I run them ? Don't want them so low that I knock 'em off the bead.
Also has a 20hp Kohler engine. What would be the proper Bosch +4 spark plug for this engine ?

Pat, can't help you out with the Bosch spark plug. I can help you out with the tires. If you have the K-rims with the double bead, you can run with no air in the tires. I have many times. I normally will put 1 to 1 1/2 psi on the corners and none to maybe 1 psi in the middle tires. A good trick is put less in the middle tires. That will help out when climbing out of a mud hole, or going over a steep hill. I have never knocked the tire off of the bead on the K-rims. I have with the other style rims, the old rims, with 2psi in the tires.

pat, not all atv tires are compatible with skid steers. skid steer tires are designed with sidewall flex in mind.
tru powers sound familar. are they a v type cleating? you can go lower psi, and may pop the bead, and you may have to pop out for rims with a bead lock.
at anyrate skid steers are not to be tuned on psi alone. the hot setup is tire circumference, all six (or eight) babies within a 1/2" tolerence.
GO ARMY!

Well i found out 2-1/2 psi is too low. Went on a rough trail Turkey hunting and knocked a front tire off the bead. Sure rode good with 2.5 psi till I knocked it off though. I have gone back to 4 psi. Mabe later I will try 3 or 3.5 but I too scared right now.

pat,if your tires are new...you might try this.air them up to about 8 psi,run them for 3 + or- hrs.( hour meter time) then start gradually letting out air a little at a time;i.e. 6 psi,4 psi.etc. till you get the desired psi. you want for the best ride.it took me 3 years and this site to finally figure that out.i would knock a tire off the rim at 5psi.now i can run 2.5psi with no trouble.
as far as bosch plugs....next to splitfires, they are probably the best plug you can use.and you should be able to go to your local auto parts dealer and get a crossreference.i use them in my truck instead of AC's.and it runs better with better mileage.i haven't tried them in my bigfoot yet. hope this helps mike/WETSU
