Mike,
The best thing is to just get out there and learn how the machine is going to react. Start on small inclines and go from there. Each hill and each terrain is different. The best way to learn and learn fast is to go riding with other experience drivers. I don't know how far away you live, but I am having a ride on March 31 & April 1 @ deepwater, MO. It is about the center of the state, about 1 hour drive north of Springfield. If you can make it, I promise you will learn a lot about how to drive the Max in water, mud, on hills, etc. If you think you can make it, contact me and I can give you directions on how to get there.

bud thk u for the invite to the ride, will contact
u if we can make it,have been out today with my
old 4wheeler buddies, showing them the max,u got to
understand that this is the first one where were at so the 4 wheel guys(whitch i was one b4 i got the max)just didnt think it would go like the
foreman i had,so being the the redneck that i am,
i says follow me and if u can go where i go!
they all stopped when i crossed the little red
river, (wonder why) and having had a foreman,i
beleive the max with an experienced op would
outperform them in any circumstance, havin fun!
