i have an attex and on my local trails there are some train tracks.i have 2 wooden boards i put accross them and drive over but i was wondring if there is a way to cross w/out getting stuck?maybee going at an angle? thanx for any info!

I never tried crossing any tracks. With everything that your 6x6 can go over I would never think of getting hung up on train tracks. I can definately understand your concern though. Yeah all I can think of is trying to go over at an angle also. That or warp speed. HEHE

I work for the Railroad, and the rails are going to be about 7.5 inches high. if you are going to try going at an angle I would try it on some boards at that height first. A train could be coming at you at a speed that would not allow you to clear the tracks if you got stuck. That would rbe the final bounce.

i havent tryed it with an attex but never had trouble with the maxII, what tires do you have joe?
maybe you could try it without boards if you have enough people presant at the time of the expiriment too pick up the attex if the expirement fails and put the board under it again, also you could put more gravle betwean railes ,but not so much as to trouble the trains , and leading too & from the rails in alignment with trail, so each time you come down the trail it's no diferant than a crossing in the street is for your car.

i have an argo bigfoot and i cross high tracks all the time .Straight on and slow it is bumpy but ive never got stuck. Check the ground clearance of your particular machine before you try it and make sure someone is there to help you if you get hung up !!! Safety first fun second...

Dear Joe, Rail-road property is PRIVATE PROPERTY
please,if you must cross tracks cross at an public cross-ing.It may take a little time but,it would be better that the alternative.Rail-roads encourage the use of crossings.
Besides that there was an ATVer lost his ATV to a train. Stay SAFE and HAVE FUN ATV-ing.P.S.Hope I get one for Christmas(max 500-t).

No matter what, you need to be careful when crossing the tracks. I had a friend years ago that sold me my first machine, an Attex Colt (engine swapped for a 297) real cheap because of his habit of getting a running start on one side of the tracks and clearing both rails before coming down. The last time he did it, he chose a spot that happen to have the ties a little longer than normal and put a couple of railroad tie-sized holes in the front of the body. It took a lot of patching and it wasn't pretty, but I got it to (almost) float again.

Railroad tracks ARE PRIVAVE PROPERTY,case in point,an ATVer had their ATV demolished by a train,needless to say the ATV is no longer here.Luckily the person riding the ATV was NOT HURT OR INJURED,because they had gotten off in time.Trains also can run anytime and on any track track in any direction.Investigate about your states' OPERATION LIFESAVER course.I have knowledge of rail operations,as well,and can only say I hope this may encourage you to use a public grade crossing.Thanks from a man behind the throttle!

just drive as fast as u can over them man you could proabably make it thats what I did with my argo conquest 8x8 but if u don't go fast enought ur sqrewed and never drive safe thats when u get hurt the most
