My posted discussion on MaxII or Argo Bigfoot gave me lots of great info. Thanks to everyone. Is there anyone who has bought an Argo and later regreted not buying the Max, or perhaps bought the Max and wished they had an Argo. If I had the cash, I'd probably have one of each. They each seem to have some really good features. I seem to be leaning towards the Bigfoot, as I really like the cargo area in the rear.

Ron -

No regrets at all. I bought an Argo Vanguard2 and thoroughly enjoyed using it. It was stolen with less than 25 hours on it. I replaced it with an Argo Response. Again, no regrets. Now, the stolen Vanguard2 has been recovered, and we are trying to buy it back from the insurance company. Repairing it will be a long, slow process, but I want it back. No regrets at all!

Ron,
That brings up a good point. Although my Attex is old I am performing a frame-off restoration and would be mad as hades if someone ran off with it. Especially you guys that spend $5,000 to $10,000 on a new rig anybody ever thought of maybe putting a small alarm on there 6? Just a thought from Ron's post I'd be steaming mad if someone ran off with my Attex :)

Douglas

A nasty surprise can be made for thieving scumbags by installing a GPS locator into your machine.

Doug,

Hmm I like that idea :)

How does the GPS locator work & where do you get them? Is this the same thing as the lo-jack auto recovery system?

Ron,

Not sure where to get them but I'm interested I'm sure you can find some on the net.

The GPS locator sounds like a neat idea, but with one flaw. It needs power to operate. The low-lifes who stole my Vanguard cut most of the wiring, including the wires to the hour meter, right after they nabbed it. Even if you did install a Lo-Jack, how would you keep the bad guys from cutting the power to it?

BTW - Haven't we gotten off topic?

They can be sourced with their own power source and are about 4"x5"x1". Easy to hide hard to find run with no external power source. "Hello there, you have something that belongs to me and I want it back. NOW".

I do not have a6x6 but very intrested in one. There seems to be a lot of chains involved in the drive train. how long do those chains last if properly maintained.
