I must of been good this year because Santa brought me an Argo Conquest!

I have a few questions about outboard motors though. I have been looking at the Honda 4 stroke engines and think this will be the way I will go. They have a few different options and I was wondering what other here thought about how much horsepower is right. They have a 5hp, 8hp and 9.9hp model, which one do you think would be the right size? They also make diffent lengths, what is the proper depth for the outboard? I was also hoping to tie the outboard motor into the main tank with a valve, has anyone done this before?

Thanks!

john,
I have a 6 horse evinrude for my bigfoot and have used it many times. I would go with the 9.9 hp but as far as hooking it to the argo gas tank, I dont know. If these new four stroke outboards do not require a pressurized tank then I wouldn't see a problem. I would mesure to fit the outboard you want by taking the machine to the outboard dealer and mounting it on the conquest just to make sure and dont forget the bracket on the hitch: that takes most of the pressure off the body and directs it right to the frame and you will get more speed by that causing the front of the machine to lift in the front from the pushing on the hitch instead of high on the rear of the body.

argoqeru,
I haven't seen the bracket for the hitch, that sounds like a great idea, where did you see that option? I am not sure if it requires a pressurized tank or not, but will find out before making any mods.

Thanks for the info!

the bracket should come with the outboard motor bracket kit.

John, I agree with Jon, take the argo to the honda outboard dealer and test fit. Make sure to get a long shaft so the prop will be lower than the body. If you get too short of shaft the prop will not be able to get water to it and will not move you very well. If the honda does not have a fuel pump or needs a pressurised tank how about putting on of the kaw. elc. fuel pumps that have about 1 psi on the fuel tank like Jon and dave use to climb big hills? Matt
