In a episode of "Tactical to Practical" on the History Channel, some scenes and nice words from the promotional video was shown. The statement was something like "these go-anywhere vehicals have been around for 30 years and now the military is catching on." The implication is that the technology is moving from the cilivian market to the military market.
Typically this show is about technology moving to the military market to the cilivian market. This was a nice twist.

The U.S> Army was using Attex machines back in the early 70's. The RIM was designed for military use also.

I saw that episode of T-P and still can’t figure out how it fit into the script/plot. It was a pure PR piece of tape.
