Has Hoot shut down? How do you know this? It seems to have great potential and I am interested in the machine.
Thanks

They do not deliver at this moment, but there is no shut down. That message it's anonymous ...

I phoned Hoot International today and spoke to Richard Neary, the owner. They are not gone, not dead he tells me.
They are doing a web site rebuild and are getting ready to head into production some time this fall (not sooner than Oct he said).
Starting Aug 1, they'll start limited production to meet existing orders. Technically speaking, they're still in the R&D stage and never got into full production. That is due to end soon.
There is a new model on the way which is longer and about 1 inch higher. The extra height is to accomodate snow tracks.
ISO certification is about to be completed and they have a large financial backer (actually I had heard this from some dealers a couple of months ago).
Of course time will tell how this new entrant will fare. I posted to this discussion board a while back that I'd go a test out a Hoot and let everyone know how it goes. I now have an invitation from Richard Neary to do just that.
I'm a fairly typical consumer that has certain requirements in an off road toy... I have kids, like to fish, don't hunt, like to goof around in the woods, don't want speed (but don't want to be as slow as a turtle either),never really cared about driving from land to water and back but it sounds neat. Plus it has to fit on my trailer.
Oh, and I'm not rich, so price is always a factor.
If there are specific things any of you want me to look into during my visit to Hoot, post it here. I expect to go there within the next two weeks.
For the record: I do not own a Max, or an Argo, or a 4 wheeler, but I do own a TerraJet which I never get to use and it now needs restoration. My son drove it some and I only put about 2 hours on it myself. So I have no bias to any brand.
Regards,

Brain did you ever get the chance to test drive that Hoot. Would like to hear something on the Hoot, how does it look, performs and is it well made. Does it look like a real good machine?
